The Elephant 11 S - Grandrelle is the stretch edition of the Elephant 11, a 20oz super heavyweight Japanese selvedge denim. For this iteration of the Elephant series, we took the fabric construction of the Elephant 5, utilizing the same super slubby warp exterior, and paired it with a twisted black & white grandrelle yarn for the weft. The result is a denim that has the look of both a classic indigo x white denim and an indigo x black denim. Looking closely at the front face of the fabric, you’ll see white peeking through the twill lines like a classic denim would, and you’ll see portions where it appears to be solid like an indigo x black denim would. Flip up the cuff and you can show off the wavy texture inside. The Elephant 11 contains 2% stretch for improved comfort and mobility. The stretch will activate the more you wear and wash the jeans. To start the fabric is quite rigid and full of texture. Cut, sewn, built in Canada with contrast stitching, redline selvedge ID, 10oz vegetable tanned leather patch, and silver metallic buttons and rivets.
